Nanny donates part of her liver to save the life of a 16-month-old girl she cares for.

Thanks to the selfless decision of a Pennsylvania nanny, the 16-month-old girl she takes care now has a new liver. Kiersten Miles, 22, has donated part of her liver to baby Talia, who has a serious disease that could have been fatal without a liver transplant.

Miles had only known the Rosko family for three weeks when she found out about Talia’s illness and then the college student volunteered to donate part of her liver to save the toddler. Medical professionals and the family explained that this is a serious surgery that would disqualify her from donating again, even if she has a child of her own in a similar situation, but she was happy to help.
