Firefighters in California have rescued a three-month-old puppy who got her head stuck in a spare tire. The Riverside County Department of Animal Services responded to a call about the trapped Australian cattle dog and they tried to use oil to lubricate her neck to slide it out, but it was too swollen.
The pup was then taken to the Coachella Valley Animal Campus and sedated to calm her. Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department were then able to use a safety saw to cut out a piece of the tire so she had enough room to slide her head out. The crew nicknamed her “Wheelie Pup” and she’s doing well since she was freed.
