Brevard County's Emergency Operations Center was elevated Monday to "Level 1" activation in response to the escalating coronavirus pandemic.
The county said the move from Level 2 to Level 1 is designed "to more broadly address the COVID-19 pandemic."
A Level 1 activation provides for the full participation of emergency management personnel, as well as all of the "emergency support functions," including county departments and municipalities, as well as other agencies and nonprofit organizations.
