BREVARD: Gov. DeSantis Suspends J&J COVID Vaccine in Florida

The FDA and the CDC are recommending a pause in administration of the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine after six American women developed rare but severe blood clots. 

The CDC says people who experience symptoms including severe headache, abdominal pain, leg pain, and shortness of breath should seek medical treatment. The six women also experienced low levels of blood platelets, evidenced by easy bruising, and bleeding of the nose or gums. 

Gov. DeSantis said Tuesday that the state would follow the CDC and FDA recommendation and suspend the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine in Florida.
