BREVARD UPDATES: What's closed and local Shelters open

Brevard County will open 3 shelters at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, for residents who live in flood prone or low lying areas.The following shelters will be pet-friendly and available for our special needs and general population: Walter Butler Community Center, 4201 N Cocoa Blvd, Cocoa. Wickham Park Community Center, 2815 Leisure Way, Melbourne and Max K. Rodes Community Center, 3410 Flanagan Ave West Melbourne. Community Information Hotline at 2-1-1.

All Brevard Public Schools and District offices will be closed tomorrow and Thursday. All school activities, events, and programs for these two days are canceled. At this time, no decision has been made regarding school on Friday. Check for updates here!

All Florida Tech classes will meet remotely via Canvas and Zoom on Wednesday. All classes are canceled Thursday and Friday. Residence halls will remain open for students. Campus events have been postponed or canceled until further notice. Check for updates here.

All EFSC classes (including online courses) are canceled tomorrow through Friday.

UCF is closed today through Friday.

Publix Stores in Brevard County will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28 and are expected to remain closed through Thursday, Sept. 29. Check for updates here.

Theme parks: Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Legoland, Busch Gardens and SeaWorld announced they will be closed today and tomorrow. Hotels at Disney and Universal are still open, though, but Disney won't accept any new guests tomorrow. 

Port Canaveral announced Tuesday evening that Canaveral Lock will remain closed through Thursday, though it will possibly reopen Friday or Saturday.
