A survey of a thousand female small business owners finds that 73% say their work-life balance has improved since they stopped working somewhere else and opened their own business.
And six in 10 admit they’re still stressed out every day.
The survey also finds:
- The top concerns these female small business owners share include funding (42%), fatigue (23%) and finding employees (13%).
- Some of them started their business out of necessity, as 28% say they were let go or laid off before opening their own business.
- More than half of them (55%) are running their businesses from home, which comes with challenges including “Always being on the clock,” “Balancing distractions,” “staying on task,” “organizing space” and “managing work-life in the same space.”
- While 35% of respondents employ family members, 19% say it’s against their philosophy to hire relatives.
- Overall, 70% of female small business owners enjoy being their own boss more than anything else.
