The Cocoa High School choir is headed for Carnegie Hall. Cocoa High is the only Florida school represented at the 9/11 remembrance event. The choir was invited after someone heard the students sing at the State Musical Performance Assessment and recommended them to the Fall Sing Committee. They need to raise $85,000 to pay for the trip. The group has been able to raise $38,000, so far. The choir will be in the Big Apple from Oct. 12-15. Cocoa High Chorus will hold multiple events to raise more money. At 2 p.m. Aug. 10, the group will perform at the seventh annual gala fundraiser in the Historical Cocoa Village Play House. Tickets are $25. Donations also can be made at gofundme.com/chs-chorus-carnegie-hall-nyc-trip.
