Fender Partners With Brendon Urie, Pete Wentz And More For New Charity

Fender is one of, if not the most, popular guitar brands in the world, and the company is giving back with its newly launched Fender Play Foundation. The new charity aims to equip, educate, and inspire communities about the power of music.

"Operating under the belief that music is the universal language that empowers self-expression and community building everywhere, the Fender Play Foundation strives to place these powerful tools in the hands of youth who aspire to play," the organization's website reads. Those tools include equipment donations, personalized instruction, and artist experiences with their impressive list of ambassadors that include Panic! At The Disco's Brendon Urie, Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz, and Green Day's Mike Dirnt, among other big names.

Artist ambassadors will help launch initiatives in 2019 and 2020 that include "surprise instrument drops and meet and greets, donating signed gear and memorabilia for auction, appearing at galas and helping guide the foundation’s overall direction."

"I’m excited to team up with the Fender Play Foundation to support the next generation of shredders," Urie said in a statement. "Growing up in Vegas my music mentors and education were such a huge influence on my life, I hope through partnering with Fender, that I can help do the same for young musicians!"

The charity's goal is to raise $3 million over the next three years for educational institutions and organizations. Learn more about the Fender Play Foundation here.
