Get yourself in a healthier headspace with these tips from Chris Barez-Brown, author of Wake Up! A Handbook to Living in the Here and Now:
Send sappy text: Tell someone special you appreciate them, and it will buoy both of you: "Doing this helps you become attuned to the positives in life," says Barez-Brown.
Reclaim your lunch break: No more desk meals. Eat outside with coworkers or grab a bite someplace new. "The interaction with other folks, the fresh air, and the change in scenery will boost your well-being," says Barez-Brown, so you head into the p.m. energized.
Spend less: Accumulating more stuff just distracts you from what's important: your family and friends, happiness, and health. For the next four days, limit your purchases to the essentials. Focusing on your loved ones and self-care will pay off in spades.
