Tampa Bay Rays Expand Seating to 25,000 on July 5th

ST. PETERSBURG -- The house will hopefully seem a lot fuller at Tropicana Field starting next month.

The Tampa Bay Rays have announced that capacity at their home ballpark will expand to 25,000 for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, beginning with the July 5th game and continuing through the last home game of the regular season September 26th.

That figure matches the 2019 capacity, meaning socially distant seating pods will become a thing of the past. Also as in 2019, the 300 level will be closed off.

Fans over the age of two will still be required to wear a face mask at all times unless they have been fully vaccinated.

Season ticket holders will get a special invitation to purchase tickets in an online presale. Single game tickets for the general public for games July 5th and later will go on sale a week from Friday (June 25th) at 10 a.m. at THIS LINK or the MLB Ballpark app.
