Maple Leafs Shut Out Lightning

The Toronto Maple Leafs (14-11-4) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (16-11-2) 2-0 on Monday night at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. The Lightning have now lost four in a row and been shut out in back-to-back games.

Dennis Hildeby earned his first NHL shutout for Toronto, saving all 29 shots he faced in net to get the win. Jonas Johansson went 22-of-23 in net in the losing effort for the Lightning, Toronto got a first period goal from Morgan Rielly that would prove to be the game winner, before Auston Meadows scored an empty netter to make it a 2-0 final score.

The Lightning look to bounce back in the second game of a back-to-back when they travel to Montreal on Tuesday. Puck drop between the Lightning and Montreal Canadiens is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Tuesday night.
