Hospital workers have to wear an extraordinary amount of gear to stay safe while treating coronavirus patients, which makes it hard to see their facial expressions. But some medical personnel have found a way to show their faces and human side from behind those protective masks.
Respiratory therapistRobertino Rodrigeuzseems to have come up with the idea of putting a laminated photo of himself smiling on the outside of his personal protective gear and he shared it on Instagram. The “Share Your Smile” movement has since taken off and healthcare workers across the country are getting in on the trend.
Dr. Lina Soni,who’s treating coronavirus patients in Brooklyn says her patients “had a wonderful connection to it,” adding, “They deserve to see normal people around them.”
