Women's History Month on the Space Coast - Lite Rock 99.3 Spotlights: Cheyana Fischer, Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Operating Officer Health First – Hospital Division
Cheyana Fischer is Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Hospital Division, at Health First in Brevard County. Cheyana’s nursing career began in 2006 at AdventHealth Orlando, and she joined Health First in 2008 - at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Her nursing background is in emergency medicine and trauma.
Cheyana was part of the leadership team that opened Viera Hospital – Health First’s fourth and newest hospital - in 2011. She was promoted to director of nursing in 2016, Vice President of Nursing in 2017, and was named Hospital Administrator in 2019.
As Hospital Administrator, Cheyana was responsible for leading Viera Hospital to Top Decile Performances in quality outcomes, patient safety, and customer experience, earning multiple 5-star ratings, and an A-grade from the Leapfrog Group’s hospital safety ratings.
Cheyana was named Chief Nursing Officer for Health First’s Hospital Division in 2020, where she’s been responsible for more than 2,000 nurses and the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care for patients within Health First’s four hospitals. And in 2022, she was named to the additional role of Chief Operating Officer for the Hospital Division.
