WOW!
Earlier this week, a Sarasota Police Department officer jumped onto a runaway boat traveling about 40 miles per hour after its operator was thrown overboard near the Ringling Museum in Florida.
The incident occurred when the boater, navigating around a larger vessel, was ejected and left his boat circling out of control. Multiple agencies attempted to stop the vessel, with Sea Tow eventually slowing it using a tow line before the officer boarded and brought it to a halt.
The operator, who was not wearing a life jacket or using the boat’s emergency engine cut-off switch, sustained minor injuries.
