Woman Bitten by 8-foot alligator in Brevard Pond!

A 26-year-old woman is recovering after being attacked by an alligator while wading in a pond in Brevard County.  The woman was bitten Saturday near Fay Lake Wilderness Park in Port St. John. As soon as that happened, witnesses said everyone ran from the water and a few people tried to help the woman as they called 911.

"Several people grabbed towels and shirts and wrapped her side and leg and then they rushed her up," witness Dave Nygard said. Tillman was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Her injuries are not life-threatening. Officials said a trapper removed an 8 foot 6 inch alligator from the area.
