After three decades of discussion and controversy, renaming Airport Boulevard after Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. became a reality after a 6-1 vote by the Melbourne City Council.More than 400 people gathered in the Melbourne Auditorium cheered as the measure passed with a roll call vote.
Businesses will have 18 months to change their addresses at the post office.It will cost around $7,000 dollars to change the signs, plus labor costs, from Airport Boulevard to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
