Kentucky Governor Apologizes to Tupac Shakur about his Unemployment Check?

Kentucky Governor Andy Breshear held a press conference last week to address the delays in getting people their unemployment benefit checks. In the middle of his speech, he pointed out a particular person that he thought was trying to scam the system. He accusing a man of stealing the identity of late rapper Tupac Shakur to fraudulently apply for unemployment benefits.

The problem, however, is that there actually is a Tupac Shakur — not who lost his restaurant job due to the COVID-19 pandemic and legitimately applied for his unemployment benefits.  Breshear publicly apologized for his remarks after finding this out. Needless to say, The Office of Unemployment Insurance is now on the case working to resolve the claim.”
