South Lake’s Library Media Specialist, Missy Slack, is providing a neighborhood curbside lil library on Chicory Drive in the MeadowRidge subdivision of Titusville. Books are set out every morning at the end of the driveway for ANYONE to: ‘Take One’, Leave One’, ‘READ One’.
Mrs. Slack borrowed this idea from another media specialist. She started in one neighborhood and the effort quickly expanded to others!
Families are enjoying going for a walk or a bike ride, stopping to find the “Just Right Book” to take home. Seeing families stop by excitedly searching for a book, makes this librarian’s heart smile.
A number of South Lake teachers have even donated books because the number one message all educators want their students to hear is KEEP READING!
