An oceanfront condominium tower has collapsed near Miami Beach. Rescue teams are searching the rubble of Champlain Towers South looking for survivors. The 12-story building in Surfside collapsed early this morning.
Champlain Towers South was one of three condominium towers that were built in 1981, and contained 136 residences with amenities including a gym and a heated pool. The price range at the tower started at 600-thousand. Officials are not sure why it collapsed, or how many people were in the tower at the time. So far, at least one death has been reported.
