This summer, Sears in Titusville closed up shop. On Monday, the longtime Melbourne location was on the list of stores that will close. Sears Holdings plans to close 142 unprofitable stores, as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, on top of 46 store closings announced in August. Liquidation sales at the additional stores are expected to begin within two weeks, according to a court filing. There is a Sears location at Merritt Square Mall on Merritt Island.
