Suzy Fleming Leonard – Florida Today
As food and dining editor at FLORIDA TODAY, Suzy Fleming Leonard crafts stories about unique local dining options and fascinating people who prepare and enjoy food on the Space Coast. Three years ago, she created 321 Flavor: Where Brevard Eats, a Facebook community of more than 25,000 food enthusiasts who love to share their thoughts on Brevard’s dining scene.
A graduate of Auburn University, Suzy grew up in Oakdale, Louisiana. She has worked as a reporter, columnist and editor at newspapers in Florida, Alabama and Louisiana. She came to FLORIDA TODAY in 1999, and served as features editor and Style editor before her current assignment.
She has earned state and national awards for her columns, feature stories and online projects. Under her leadership, FLORIDA TODAY’s features sections were named among the top in the nation three times by the Society for Features Journalism.
Suzy serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Brevard and volunteers with the Historic Cocoa Village Main Street Association. She lives in Rockledge with her husband Steve and their standard poodle Earl.
