The Tampa Bay Rays (59-42) defeated the Toronto Blue Jays (46-56) 4-2 on Wednesday night at Rogers Centre in Toronto. With the win, the Rays have now won three straight games and guaranteed a win in the four-game series against their AL-east rival.
Griffin Jax (6-7, 3.89) set the pace allowing just one earned run on three hits in six innings of work in which he struck out five and walked one. After falling behind in the first inning, Victor Mesa Jr. tied the gam with a RBI single in the top of the second to make it 1-1. The Rays got three runs in the sixth inning - including Mesa's second RBI hit of the day - and that would prove the difference in the Rays win.
