Senator Rick Scott speaking out on the immigration and border control crisis in Marathon this morning. Scott is getting a briefing from the U-S Coast Guard on the local response to migrants arriving onshore in the Florida Keys. Border Patrol says South Florida has seen a four-hundred-percent increase in migrant encounters this fiscal year compared to the same period last year. Since Christmas alone, almost 500 Cubans and 130 Haitians have arrived in South Florida, overwhelming local authorities and raising fears of a mass migration event.
