Memorial Day Events on the Space Coast

American Legion Post 1 of Titusville will host a laying of the wreaths ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday at Veteran's Memorial Park Titusville at the eastern end of Broad Street.

Veterans Memorial Center will host a ceremony from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday on Merritt Island. Includes guest speakers, honor guard, Viera High School band, JROTC color guard, a 21-gun salute, plus an 11 a.m. catered lunch.

10th annual Memorial Tribute: The event will begin at 5 p.m. Monday at Riverfront Park in Cocoa. Includes opening remarks by City Manager John Titkanich Jr., guest speakers Pastor David Bryant Sr. and Major Gen. Jonathan Maddux. A parade starts at 5 p.m., with a static display at 6 p.m. and a formal stage presentation at 6:45 p.m.

The city of Rockledge will host a patriotic event at 2 p.m. Sunday at McLarty Park. Includes guest speakers, music, honor guard and wreath-laying.

Honor America will host its annual ceremony at Liberty Bell Museum at 11 a.m. Monday in Melbourne. Includes a massing of the colors, guest speakers, Melbourne Municipal Band, poem, benediction and more.

Open house: Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum in Titusville will host an open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Includes fly-bys, exhibits, military memorabilia, classic cars, combat pilots, radio control airplanes, food and more. Admission is free for residents and active and retired military.

City of Melbourne will host a Memorial Day parade at 10 a.m. Monday on New Haven Avenue near Helen Street. Staging starts at 9 a.m. Parade will travel east of the railroad tracks at the 1900 Building.

City of Cocoa will observe Memorial Day with a parade through Cocoa Village from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday.
