The New York Yankees (92-67) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (96-63) 6-4 on Thursday night in the Bronx to drop the four game series.
The Rays built a 4-0 lead with two in the second, one in the fifth and one in the sixth. Junior Caminero went 2-for-5 with two RBIs to increase his season total to 99. The Yankees rallied back, though, with a run in the sixth and three in the seventh. Tied 4-4 in the eighth, George Lombard hit a two-run homer to give the Yankees a 6-4 win.
The Rays now travel to Philadelphia and will wrap up the regular season against the Phillies on Friday night. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 6:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.7 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
